Malta entertainment

Casinos
There are four casinos on Malta the Dragonara Point, housed in a 19 th century mansion in St Julian's is the most popular and well known. The Oracle Casino in Bugibba also has a full range of games and slots, while the Casino Di Venezia alongside the marina in Vittoriosa is renowned for attracting an ‘up-market' clientele. The Portomasso Casino, close to the Hilton in St Julian's, is more modern but, like Malta's other casinos, offers a full range of dining facilities.

Malta 's casinos have a dress code that allows casual wear during the day but casual smart on an evening. Some form of ID must be shown to gain access and it is strictly 18s and over. Admission is normally free.

Clubs and bars
Nearly all of Malta 's main nightlife is centred on the resorts of St Julian's, Qawra and St Paul 's. Paceville, a suburb of St Julian's is made up almost entirely of clubs, bars and restaurants.

Most clubs have an over 21s policy and ID may be asked for at the door. Paceville is where most Maltese head at the weekend and casual smart dress is usually required to gain access to the more popular venues.

The Havana has a good reputation and is popular with tourists and locals alike. There are two floors and it favours mainly R&B and Hip-Hop.

Fuego's, which has a Latin theme, has two clubs on Malta , one in Paceville and one in Qawra. Both offer free Salsa lessons one night a week that can be great fun for the uninitiated.

The 7 Rooms in Paceville offers a more relaxed atmosphere where it's easy to make new friends, while Caesars in Bugibba has been popular with tourists for many years.

For those into rock try The Alley in Wilga Street in Paceville, which has regular theme nights and guest bands. Make sure you arrive early on a weekend, however, as The Alley can fill up very quickly.
